Chinese foreign minister meets the Taliban

China’s foreign minister met with senior members of the Taliban. The two sides have maintained a relationship with each other since the 1990s when the Taliban controlled Afghanistan. The meeting comes as the Taliban is gaining ground in its fight to take control of Afghanistan. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Andrew Small, a senior fellow at the German Marshall Fund, about China’s interests in Afghanistan and how that plays into their relationship with the Taliban.
