China’s much-hyped Asian railway off to sputtering start

Imagine a high-speed rail line running from China through Southeast Asia — all the way down to Singapore. That’s a similar distance from Paris to St. Petersburg. The modern railway is called the Pan-Asia Railway and China’s government has big plans to build it. The first leg of the railway just opened in December. But the project is off to a shaky start — and there are more signs of trouble on the horizon. The World’s Patrick Winn joins us from Bangkok.
