China steps in to restrict the height of skyscrapers

China says it wants to crack down on its building boom, especially “vanity projects” and has issued new height limits for skyscrapers in small cities (in China that means cities with fewer than 3 million people). It’s the second time this year that the Chinese government has stepped in to restrict skyscrapers. Marco Werman tries to find out if the new guidelines reflect concerns about aesthetics, the economy, or the environment in a conversation with Fei Chen, a senior lecturer in architecture at The University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
