China advances the quality and quantity of its computer chips

The Financial Times is reporting that China is poised to make next-generation smartphone processors and may do so as early as this year. Host Marco Werman speaks about the implications of this on the US strategy to contain China’s chip ambitions with John Z. Lee, a researcher at the Leiden Asia Centre in The Netherlands, and a visiting fellow at the Institute for Southeast Asian Studies at the National University of Singapore.
