Challenging sexist sumo

One of Japan’s few female mayors, a Harvard educated lawyer, is leading the charge against the wildly popular and quasi-governmental Sumo Association, which prevents women from entering the wrestling ring. As mayor, Naomi Koshi is supposed to greet the thousands of fans coming to her town for a major match from inside the wrestling ring, but as a woman she is prohibited from doing so and is boycotting the event and leading a growing feminism movement.
