Chad’s long-serving president dies

Chadian President Idriss Déby has died, according to a statement from the country’s army officials. He was in power for more than 30 years. Just this week, Déby was the projected winner in the country’s recent election. It’s also worth noting that his death comes after days of fighting between Chad’s army and a rebel group. The World’s Africa Correspondent Halima Gikandi reports.
