The island nation of Cape Verde is surrounded by water, but for the first time, it’ll compete in swimming at the 2020 Olympics. The Cape Verde Olympic Committee heard about three siblings in the US, all of them competitive swimmers, and all of them of Cape Verdean descent. The Pina siblings — Latroya, Troy and Jayla — took a break from practice in the town of Seekonk, Massachusetts, to tell their story to the BBC’s Kavita Pillay.
