Canada’s Enbridge pipeline through Minnesota nearly complete, protests continue

For years, the oil and gas pipeline company Enbridge has been rebuilding an oil pipeline that stretches from the tar sands of western Canada across the border into Minnesota. It passes through delicate watersheds and Indigenous lands. It’s nearly complete but protests against the pipeline continue. Environmental activists and some northern Minnesota Ojibwe bands argue the pipeline’s new route opens up new parts of the state to oil spills. Reporter Kirsti Marohn has been covering this story for Minnesota Public Radio, and joins The World’s Marco Werman to share the latest.
