As the new coronavirus continues to spread, scientists are investigating the origin of the virus — and it’s a puzzle. Epidemiologists are trying to figure out where the virus came from, and who or what is responsible. Many have pointed to a large wet market in Wuhan as a potential source, where hundreds of animal species were kept in cages in close proximity. A recent study from Chinese researchers suggests that Pangolins may have been involved, a critically endangered, highly-trafficked mammal, which looks like a sentient pine cone. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks with Jon Epstein from EcoHealth Alliance. Epstein breaks down the latest research.
