Boston Chinatown preschool addresses socio-emotional learning

Children all over the world struggled with learning and developing social skills during the COVID-19 pandemic. Asian American communities were also hit with economic challenges, as well as a rise in hate crimes directed at them. One preschool in Boston’s Chinatown has developed a program specifically to help children develop social skills in a culturally relevant way. Heidi Shin reports in the first of a two-part series developed for a reporting fellowship from The Dart Center on Journalism and Trauma at Columbia Journalism School.
