The White House on Monday announced a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics, slated to begin on Feb. 4. Press secretary Jen Psaki said the decision was due to China’s “ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang.” She said while Team USA athletes have their full support, the US would not be contributing to the “fanfare” of the Games.
