Beloved Bollywood film screened daily for decades in Mumbai

A beloved Bollywood film has been screened in a Mumbai movie theater every day for the past 27 years, often to packed houses. The movie is titled, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge — or “DDLJ” for short — and is a sweeping romance with catchy songs that is one of the highest-grossing films of all time in India. And now, it’s made it’s way onto stages in the United States. Namrata Kolachalam attended a screening in Mumbai to understand the passion for the film.
