Asbestos-contaminated mulch has forced dozens of playgrounds and schools in Sydney to close

Asbestos, a highly carcinogenic material, has found its way into garden mulch in Australia that has been spread around Sydney’s city gardens and play areas. To date, 47 schools and parks have been closed, with more closures expected. The World’s Sarah Birnbaum reports that environmental investigators have pinpointed the source, but they still don’t know exactly how the mineral got into the mulch.
