As Uganda passes strict anti-gay law, Ghana and others look to follow suit

Uganda recently passed a law that criminalizes homosexuality, punishable by death, sparking outrage and condemnation from many. LGBTQ people and human rights advocates in other African countries fear that the Ugandan law may empower anti-LGBTQ movements elsewhere on the continent. Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman reports from Ghana, which has been debating a similar bill since 2021.
