After weeks of hanging precipitously due to snapped cables, the structure holding the world-famous Arecibo space telescope in Puerto Rico has collapsed. This is a tragic blow for scientists who use the observatory to learn the mysteries of outer space. Puerto Rican scientist Abel Méndez speaks to The World’s Marco Werman about what this means.
