The music of Waldemar Bastos is being played in Angola as the country remembers the legendary musician who died in Lisbon of cancer at the age of 66. Bastos’ music career began in Portugal after leaving his native Angola following the country’s independence in 1975. He was among Angola’s first artists to gain international recognition.
