Former US Army Sgt. Kayla Williams was deployed to Iraq in 2003 as an Arabic linguist two days after the US-led invasion began. She met her husband in Iraq. He suffers from a traumatic brain injury sustained in Mosul. Williams talks with The World’s Marco Werman about the long-term physical psychological impact of the war on veterans, and the times she felt she didn’t live up to her values in Iraq.
