Amanda Gorman’s inaugural poem

The World

The US inauguration of President Joe Biden on Wednesday featured some famous cultural icons: Jennifer Lopez, Garth Brooks and Lady Gaga. But, there was one name that was lesser known before the events. Poet Amanda Gorman will now be remembered for a long time to come. The 22-year-old poet stood at the dais on Capitol Hill, where two weeks ago, a mob rioted and where minutes earlier, Biden took the oath of office. Gorman recited her poem, “The Hill We Climb.”
