Afghan assets seizure 

President Joe Biden issued an executive order late last Friday to divert $7 billion of Afghanistan’s assets into two separate pots — roughly half to go humanitarian aid in Afghanistan, and the other to stay to potentially go to families of 9/11 victims. Some Afghans The World spoke to, like like Obaidullah Baheer, object, saying the asset seizure disproportionately affects common Afghan people who are not responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Marco Werman interviews Scott R. Anderson, editor in chief of Lawfare, about the complexity of the executive order and how it will affect Afghanistan.
