Activists call for postponement of climate summit

A network of 1,500 environmental groups are calling on the British government to delay the UN climate summit scheduled for November in Glasgow, Scotland. They’re worried that delegates from vulnerable nations won’t be able to attend due to travel restrictions, lack of access to vaccines and the cost of quarantine hotels. The UK government has pledged to provide vaccinations for all accredited attendees and, this week, announced they’d pay for required quarantine hotels, but concerns about equity — long a topic of concern at UN summits — persist. The World’s Environment Correspondent Carolyn Beeler reports.
