The World’s Carolyn Beeler spends time with a Ukrainian soldier in his hometown of Kyiv while he’s on leave from the front lines. After serving in combat, this fourth-generation warrior says that something simple, like getting a hair cut or talking a stroll through his family’s neighborhood, suddenly takes on new meaning. Max Tkachenko contributed to this report.
