Preliminary results from a Swedish trial found that artificial intelligence-supported reading of mammograms detected 20% more cases of breast cancers compared with the double reading of mammograms by two radiologists. The study looked at the mammograms of 80,000 women and the early results were published in Lancet Oncology this week.
