A plot to kidnap or kill Julian Assange

The United States will challenge a UK judge’s ruling on Julian Assange’s extradition to America. Last month, in a story by Yahoo News, it was revealed that the CIA had previously made plans to kidnap or kill Assange. Former CIA Director Mike Pompeo called Wikileaks a “non-state hostile intelligence service,” which became the justification for the CIA to use a brand of internal law called “offensive counterintelligence” to plan operations against Assange. The US indictment against Assange already contains many legal arguments that concern press advocates. Carol Hills interviews Zach Dorfman, the reporter who broke the CIA plot story and who has been following Assange’s extradition hearings closely.
