There may not be any swaying palm trees, but the United Kingdom’s North Devon coast has been selected as a World Surfing Reserve. It is only the 12th location around the globe to be given the status and the first cold-water reserve. Marco Werman talks with Kevin “Cookie” Cook. He’s been surfing at North Devon for more than 50 years, and it was his idea to apply for the World Surfing Reserve designation.
