23 endangered baby gorillas are named

The World

Today, thousands of Rwandans gathered on the foothills of a national park to witness 23 baby mountain gorillas get named. It’s part of an annual tradition for the endangered primates who live in and around Rwanda’s Volcano National Park. Political dignitaries, conservationists and sports stars from Rwanda and beyond were given the chance to name each of the baby gorillas. The naming ceremony was started to raise awareness of the endangered primates.
