The World

Gloria broke down in sobs when she first learned how much tuition would be at a New York university. Being from Ecuador, she wouldn’t qualify for federal financial aid or subsidized loans. She admits she sometimes had to work illegally. That’s why we are not using her full name. International students can’t work more than 20 hours a week during the school year, and only on campus. But today she is getting ready to graduate from law school.
