Need for Hmong interpreters grows as community in US ages

Several waves of Hmong people settled in the US after the Vietnam War. One of the largest communities is in North Carolina. Because the older generations did not grow up in the US, their English is often limited. WFAE reporter Layna Hong met one Hmong family outside of Charlotte, N.C., whose grown children increasingly have to step in to interpret, especially during trips to the doctor.
