State of emergency in Haiti

Haiti is under a state of emergency at this hour, with a nighttime curfew in effect. Those measures were taken after armed gangs overran the two biggest prisons in Haiti and released thousands of violent inmates -— including murderers and kidnappers. As we’ve previously reported, gangs have a strong hold on the capital Port-au-Prince, where they are thought to be in control of 80% of the city.
