Two British museums agree to return Ashanti treasures to Ghana but there’s a twist

The British Museum and London’s Victoria and Albert Museum have reached a deal with Ghana to return 32 gold and silver artifacts that belong to the Ashanti people. They were looted during the Anglo-Ashanti Wars in the 19th century. But the deal stipulates that the treasures are only on loan. Marco Werman speaks with Nana Oforiatta Ayim, a special adviser to Ghana’s culture minister, about the importance of this first step in restoring Ghana’s stolen heritage.
