The survival of everyone on board Japan Airlines flight 516 on Tuesday has been described as nothing short of a miracle. The World’s Carolyn Beeler speaks with Ed Galea, director of the Fire Safety Engineering Group at the University of Greenwich in the UK, about how crew — and passenger — preparedness allowed for the speedy evacuation of all 379 passengers and crew before the plane turned into a fireball on the runway.
