Hamas has a command structure that is sometimes chaotic and uncoordinated

Inside Hamas, the Shura Council is the main consultative body that chooses a leader in their politburo. But that leader doesn’t always know everything that is going on. Some leaders are abroad, some are in Gaza, and coordination between the two, especially when it comes to military operation sometimes goes without coordination and can throw the political leadership into a crisis without warning. The World’s Marco Werman talks with Ali Hashem, a longtime correspondent who has covered the Middle East and interviewed Hamas’ leadership, about how their command structure operates.
