Israel-Hamas war: The truce in Gaza ends

After a seven-day pause in fighting, during which Hamas and Israel exchanged hostages and prisoners, any chance of extending it has collapsed. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been leaning on Israel to reduce the civilian carnage in their bombing campaign, and possible disagreements on that topic broke into public view on the eve of Israel’s renewed offensive in Gaza. The World’s Carol Hills talks with Aaron David Miller, who was an adviser to six secretaries of state on Arab-Israeli relations, about the friction between the US and Israel.
