Fueling sustainable aviation

Virgin Atlantic flew a Boeing 787 from London to New York today, fueled by SAF — Sustainable Aviation Fuel. In this case, it was a blend of 88% waste fats and 12% synthetic kerosene made from plant sugars. Host Marco Werman speaks with Camille Mutrelle, a policy officer with the Brussels-based advocacy group Transport & Environment, about today’s flight, what it represents for the future of green aviation and what other aviation fuels are now in development.
