Warnings about mercury used in skin-lightening products

The Minamata Convention on Mercury is concluding in Geneva. The conference has focused on the use of the heavy metal in everyday products, such as skin-lightening cream. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Dr. Roopal Kundu, a dermatologist and professor at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine, about the origins of skin bleaching and the dangers of mercury.
