Hurricane Otis slammed into Mexico’s Pacific coast early Wednesday morning and wreaked havoc on the beach resort city of Acapulco. Initially thought to be simply a tropical storm, Otis transformed in a matter of hours into a Category 5 hurricane before reaching landfall. Marco Werman spreaks with Nick Shay, an oceanographer at the University of Miami, to find out what caused Otis to shift so fast from something manageable into something more sinister.
