Australians to vote on referendum to enshrine Indigenous rights in the constitution but not all Indigenous people are for it

This Saturday, voters will decide whether to recognize indigenous Australians in the nation’s constitution. And, whether to create a permanent advisory body for them. The referendum has become a political flashpoint, with conservative lawmakers arguing that a “yes” vote would give Indigenous people unfair rights. But some Indigenous people are also against the amendment. The World’s Sarah Birnbaum reports from Sydney on the indigenous case for “no,” in the second of a three-part series.
