Chinese squid fishing exposes the dangerous underbelly of seafood

Clusters of hundreds of Chinese squid fishing boats roam distant waters with support from the Chinese government, sometimes fishing illegally, and by all accounts contributing to a decline in the worldwide stock of squid. Life aboard these boats for workers is harrowing. The World’s Marco Werman talks with Ian Urbina, a reporter for Outlaw Ocean, who discusses the boats and what he found after years investigating them.
