Ukraine is now considered the most heavily mined country in the world. Nearly 1,000 civilians have been killed or injured by landmines and unexploded ordnance since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022. About a third of the country needs to be cleared of these explosives, and much of it is farmland. The World's Environment Correspondent Carolyn Beeler talks with Yuriy Zahoryui on the 15,000-acre farm he manages north of Kyiv, to hear how mines have impacted its operations.
