The deal was brokered by the United Nations and Turkey in 2022. It has helped guarantee the shipment of grains from Ukraine to countries around the world. Poorer nations are likely to be impacted the most severely. Meanwhile, in Ukraine today, an explosion has damaged the Kerch bridge, a strategic link between Russia and the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula.
