Wildfires in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia have forced more than 20,000 people from their homes. Officials are now worried that a combination of blistering heat, strong winds and low humidity could lead to “extreme fire behavior” and put even more people at risk. Marco Werman speaks with Charlene Haynes, a wildland fire research scientist with the Canadian Forest Service about what’s fueling these fires.
