In southwestern Mexico, drug cartels have been using drones in their operations. Drug barons are allegedly using the drones to drop bombs and drive villagers out of their homes. It appears that the cartels want to have full control over territory for drug trafficking purposes. Earlier this month, about 600 people had to flee from one town in the region. That’s according to a Mexican human rights organization. Drone use by cartels is not new, but more criminal groups are turning to them as they have access to cheaper drone technology.
