Tonal language speakers have better melodic abilities

A new study published by science journal Current Biology draws a connection between tonal languages and melodic abilities. According to the study, tonal language speakers are more capable of distinguishing between different melodies. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Elika Bergelson, assistant professor and neuroscientist at Duke University, about the study.
