Bali tries to rein in rowdy tourists

The Indonesian island of Bali, one of Asia’s most visited islands, is struggling against a tide of misbehaving tourists. Bali attracts waves of hard-partying “bule,” the Indonesian word for Westerners, some of whom infamously flout local laws and customs. Amid a flurry of viral clips showing foreigners gone wild, the government is pushing back. The World’s Patrick Winn says officials are considering an entry fee to scare away budget travelers — one of several proposals to weed out bad “bule.”
