More than 1,000 researchers and tech leaders call for moratorium on AI training

The Future of Life has penned an open letter calling for a pause on training AI. More than 1,000 prominent researchers in the field of AI, as well as prominent tech founders like Elon Musk, have signed the letter. They warn that no person can truly understand the complicated systems they are creating in AI labs, and that it could pose an existential danger to human civilization. Host Marco Werman spoke to one of the experts who signed the letter. John Burden is a research associate at the Center for the Study of Existential Risk at the University of Cambridge.
