For months now, the fighting in and around the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut has been relentless. And the past week, according to Ukraine’s president, has been particularly deadly. Last night Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Ukraine has managed to “kill more than 1,100 enemy soldiers” near Bakhmut. The World’s Daniel Ofman has more on the battle for the city.
