Documenting life and death in the Warsaw Ghetto

Seeing patients starving to death, and facing a similar fate themselves, 23 Jewish doctors who were forced to live in the Warsaw Ghetto documented what a lack of food did to the body. Their book, “The Disease of Starvation: Clinical Research on Starvation in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1942″ was recently rediscovered by Tufts University professor Merry Fitzpatrick. She spoke to Dan Merino, the host of The Weekly Conversation podcast, about her find and why the book is important.
