Brazil’s justice system and the fate of detained protesters

Brazilian authorities detained more than a thousand demonstrators after they invaded and vandalized Brazil’s Congress, Presidential Palace and Supreme Court on Sunday. Many may be charged under the country’s antiterrorism legislation with attempting to carry out a coup. Fabio de Sa e Silva, a scholar of Brazil’s justice system at the University of Oklahoma, speaks with The World’s Marco Werman about how the justice system will deal with the would-be insurrectionists.
