Ghana school food program on hold amid rising inflation, food and transport costs

Hunger and malnutrition are already critically pervasive in Ghana. But now, caterers who work for the nation’s school food program have essentially gone on strike. They’re facing inflation, rising food and transportation costs, and the government owes them payment from previous months. As Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman reports, the crisis could jeopardize the main meal of the day for many children.
