For decades, naval forces in several countries have used marine mammals, like dolphins, for mine detection and to patrol vulnerable waters. Now, new satellite imagery suggests Russia’s navy is using bottlenose dolphins to protect their Black Sea naval base. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks with Sam LaGrone, editor of the US Naval Institute News about why dolphins are being used as military assets.
