On Monday, Joe Biden meets with China’s leader Xi Jinping. It’s their first one-on-one virtual summit since Biden became president. Relations between the two superpowers have wide-ranging ripple effects throughout the globe, yet over the years, that relationship has been strained — even adversarial.
